Paduak Pen Blanks

Padauk, originating from Africa, is a dynamic hardwood celebrated for its vivid orange-red to reddish-brown heartwood, which gradually deepens to a rich burgundy or brown as it ages and is exposed to light. It features a coarse texture and a grain that ranges from straight to interlocked—though the latter can lead to some tear-out during machining. Despite this, Padauk is generally easy to work with and takes a finish exceptionally well, bringing out its vibrant color and natural sheen.
